UK Tour

Well, it's been a long time since I last picked up my camera due to busy work at uni and also getting into other time-consuming hobbies.

This summer, I had a 10 day tour around the UK, stopping at places below:

Norwich, The Broads & Great Yarmouth: Since I have a great love for windmills, The Broads were filled with them, I'd say over 30 in a very concentrated region. Come were ruins of old windmills, some were still in working condition, I visited 7 of them.

St. Andrews: Home of golf, prince William went to uni here, was a very nice place, full of middle class people and posh things. Visited the Old Golf Course which some may know is the World's first ever golf course.

Ayr: Doubt many of you would have heard of this place, I have only seen it on the maps once or twice, it's a lovely sea side town in the west of Scotland. I found a very intriguing castle ruin there, completely sealed up. From the surrounding and being built right on the cliff edge, you could imagine the castle's former glory in the past.

Lake District: I've always wanted to visit the Lake District in England. It had nice sceneries, but sadly, I did not take many photos here since good photos will require you to really explore the place, for me, just passing by the place, it was very hard to get anything good.

Liverpool: Had to stop here before Chester since I'm a Liverpool fan!

Chester: A city with style, full of Tudor period houses and I felt like being in a fairy tale. Old rocky roads and old wonky houses stretching far.

Portmeirion: This was in Wales, Wales generally contained very good sceneries and it's landscapes were very pure and unspoilt. Portmeirion was a place refurbished by a rich guy a long time ago. Having a strong Mediterranean flavour, it was not typical of Wales at all, but it was by far the best place during the whole tour, wait and see the photos!

Bath: A city where the Romans bathed, the whole city has been made a World Heritage Site.

Stone Henge: I just had to see this, even though I knew it was only a few rocks on a field, this site was just too famous to pass up on, especially when it was on route home too.

There were other places that I visited too, but did not take any photos of:

Durham: Didn't actually take any photos here this time since I live here when I'm at uni, but my parents wanted to see the place.

Edinburgh: A lovely place but again, didn't get the camera out much, must have been braindead that day...

Dundee: Stayed the night here, an industrial city in Scotland.

What a trip! I wish I could go traveling more, just for the photographer in me, but it'll have to wait until I'm not so busy I guess. Can't wait to see all the photos though! :)
